NPHC Garden
In 1929, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. constructed what is considered the first form of a plot on the campus of Howard University. The creation of that monument sparked a long tradition embraced by all NPHC fraternities and sororities today. Plots are a core component of the Black Greek Experience. They can take on a variety of styles from formal granite plaques, benches, to trees painted with organization’s colors and letters. They symbolically honor past, present, and future members and provide a space for unity, fellowship, and a celebration of traditions. The NPHC Garden space is dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the culture and foundation of the Divine Nine Black Greek Organizations and their existence at ECU.”
